..."don't forget to drink your ovaltine!"
So here's Simon, finally. I have been wanting to change my style a bit, but I needed a little help and guidance so I pulled out some style sheets I have from Don Bluth's "Dragon's Lair" and used Dirk the Daring as my basic body shape guide for Simon. All of these sketches are taken directly from those style sheets as a way of getting my brain used to the proportions of characters drawn in that style. They're fun to do and have helped a lot. So anyway, here's Simon. Now on to some page work...

Nice but you ripped these poses right from the Dragon's Lair model sheets...
Anonymous,
I'm not sure if you're kidding or not. I said where they were from right in my post - I'm not trying to hide anything at all. I love Bluth's work and needed to reference the Dragon's Lair poses to get the feel for the characters I was wanting. It was a learning exercise for me.
Also, Yaxin, I'm a huge fan of your work! Thanks for the kind words.
